What stands out
- PE-backed platforms were the buyer in 11 of 19 deals (Sila/Davis, Redwood/Hendrick, Leap/Central Heat & Air, Airo/Legrande's, Presidential/Shipley, Flow/Altman, T3/Element, and Service Country's four partners). One public company (Limbach/1901), one founder-led operator (Hiller/McNorton) and one private equity firm buying directly (Harvest Partners/Integra) also appear; Rocket Group (3 deals), Legacy Service Partners and Blue Cardinal did not disclose ownership in the sources reviewed.
- Residential multi-trade shops were the most common target: 9 of 19 targets offer HVAC alongside plumbing and/or electrical (Clemmer, Davis, Hendrick, D&D, Shipley, Element, Southern Trust, All Tech, Springfield). Only 4 were commercial or institutional (Integra TAB services, Altman commercial HVAC, Legrande's multifamily and commercial, 1901 union MEP).
- Several deals were a buyer's first entry into a state or market: Redwood's first Oklahoma deal (Hendrick, Tulsa), Rocket Group's first New York partner (Glamorgan, Mechanicville), Sila's entry into Western Virginia (Davis), T3's Mountain West expansion (Element) and Airo's first Myrtle Beach location (Legrande's).
- Most buyers said the acquired brand would stay (Leap/Central Heat & Air, Flow/Altman, T3/Element, all four Service Country partners); two folded the target into their own name (Presidential absorbing Shipley, Airo moving Legrande's to Airo branding over time).
